ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – There are still many unanswered questions as a 2-year-old is recovering from being shot Thursday evening in the Dellwood neighborhood.
Just after 7 p.m., police were called to a shooting reported at Chambers Road and Knollcrest Court. Upon arrival, they found the toddler who had been shot while inside an SUV.
The 2-year-old is said to be a boy, according to police. He was rushed to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two other children were inside the vehicle at the time, but they were not injured. Authorities say the car was parked along Chambers Road when the incident occurred.
The driver of the SUV was put into a police car for some time, but was able to leave in the vehicle after talking to police.
St. Louis County Police have not provided any additional details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.
