19-year-old struck in face during Wells-Goodfellow shooting

ST. LOUIS – A 19-year-old was struck in the face by a bullet while inside of his car in the city’s Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood.

According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police, the shooting occurred on Sunday around 8:30 p.m. near Clara and Theodosia Avenues.

The victim told police he was inside of his car when two male suspects came up to his vehicle. The 19-year-old said the suspects asked if he had any marijuana.

The victim said while talking to the suspect, he heard gunshots and fled from the scene. While driving away, the victim was struck in the face and drove to a gas station where police were contacted.

Police said EMS transported the victim to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The investigation is still ongoing. Police ask anyone with a tip about this shooting who wants to remain anonymous and is interested in a possible reward for their tip to contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
