ST. LOUIS – There are former St. Louis professional athletes, media members, and a family among this summer’s 2024 St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame inductees.

Some of the names that jump off the page include St. Louis Rams’ Steven Jackson, Cardinals’ Ray Lankford, and Blues’ Kelly Chase.

The list of inductees also includes Notre Dame women’s basketball coach and former WNBA player Niele Ivey.

“My foundation and my strength come from St. Louis,” Ivey said.

The Koplar family was also among this summer’s inductees. The Koplar family brought us KPLR 11, now St. Louis 11, which aired Blues and Cardinals games, along with other sporting events.

Randy Karraker of ESPN radio fame was also one of Thursday inductees.

“St. Louis has always treated me like a little brother,” Karraker explained to Thursday’s crowd at the Missouri Athletic Club.

Karraker spoke about his love for St. Louis and his support for the city’s teams.

“I root for St. Louis,” Karraker said. “I rooted for the St Louis football Cardinals and now the Blues and Cardinals. I root for St. Louis.”

Webster Groves and Principia basketball coach Jay Blossom, St. Louis Blues’ Kelly Chase, Post-Dispatch reporter Dave Dorr, softball coach Celeste Knierim, Tom Lombardo National Football Foundation, and Motorsports racing driver Ken Schrader rounded out the rest of the Hall-of-Fame class.
